Maybe I’m not the only one in this situation. Whatever grand plan I had for finishing things this summer hasn’t quite worked out like I thought it would.

It’s not sleek. It’s not quiet. Everything is metal, not a smidge of plastic on it anywhere. My first few quilts were pieced on a portable machine I had in my college dorm room. That machine was replaced with this beauty and every quilt I’ve made since then has been pieced here.

I love Dresden Plates and have made several. This is the start of another one because it’s so much fun drawing the blades and cutting them out. All of the fabrics here have been used in another quilt somewhere. I guess that makes it a historical Dresden.

Where Does the Red Go? When Daddy asked I said, “It goes wherever you want it to go.” This is Single Wedding Ring traditional pattern. I love those Michael Miller Fairy Frost fabrics.

I never can believe how long it takes to attach the binding. The process actually starts long before the quilting is finished. A running basting stitch will stabilize this edge, making it easier to attach the binding after all the excess batting is trimmed away.
